Septimus

Septimus (Please forgive the name. My children did that!) was the offspring of Lizzie that we did not find a home for. None of the people that came by to choose from the kittens ever chose him. We only kept him because of his toe deformities and the thought that people did not want him because he had 7 toes on his feet. A better description might be that one of his paws includes a partially formed second paw, rather than just extra toes. Regardless, we didn’t think that people were going to want a ‘deformed’ cat. It wasn’t until much later that we discovered the term Hemingway Cat and realized that people actually ‘desired’ this hereditary trait in a cat.
Septimus was very entertaining as a kitten, and is extremely affectionate as a full grown adult. He has grown to be quite large and is a cuddle-bunny of a cat. He absolutely loves it when I sit down to watch a movie. He will snuggle into any available space beside me, or on my lap, asking for loving and affection. His multiple toes are a bit to deal with as we have to keep his nails trimmed constantly so that the claws do not grow back into his little bean pads. But caring for his needs is worth it. He has been an amazing cat. Anyone that visits our home and gets to spend time with him falls in love.
Septimus is the alpha cat in the home. He isn’t mean or hateful. He simply believes that he owns the place. He would appreciate it very much if you are drawn to any of the cats that need to be rehomed that you would please apply! He is tired of competing with the newcomers and just wants life to go back to the way it was with his half-sister, his mom, himself, and the crazy dog that lives here.
